Roadtrip to the Tokyo South mission
Wow emailing is so tiring.
But I this week has been so eventful and is just beginning so I'll fill you in a little. So on Saturday we got to go to the Tokyo South mission and hear from elder Stevenson! He is amazing! His Japanese is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 so inspired and could feel the Spirit when he spoke in either language hahah. I really liked something he shared though. He talked a little bit about the importance of promised blessings and teaching about those blessings, and just before he spoke someone else had spoken about the patterns that God has played out. Elder Stevenson reminded us that the Lord has us do all these things to bless us.
Something He shared that I think I will always remember is
D&C4:7
"Ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Amen."
But then he asked someone to read it without the promised blessings.
And here you have it
"Ask.... knock. Amen."
Not a super great scripture hahah not a whole lot of doctrine.
You don't get the whole picture of who Heavenly Father is from this scripture. I really really love that scripture more and more now. Remember who Heavenly Father is and that He will bless you!!
Those are my words of encouragement and advice this week
Also guess what!! We read the Book of Mormon with Niijima San a bit this week and then introduced the Plan of Salvation. We had her read what the pamphlet says about the Celestial Kingdom.
"Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ reside in the celestial kingdom. If you live according to the gospel of Jesus Christ and are cleansed from sin by the Atonement, you will receive a place in this, the highest kingdom. You will live in God’s presence and know complete joy."
Just 2.5 months ago she didn't really think that God exists, but now she feels sure that He is there and that he loves her. She had never considered that she would be able to live Him someday, so when she read this part she seemed a little taken aback and then said that she wanted to go.
She is amazing. It's been so special. I never want to leave Koshigaya, I love all the people here. The people we are teaching, and the members.
It's actually pretty impossible to imagine life not as a missionary now. I am loving it.
